Well they do process millions of applications - H1's , EAD's , GC's ' I-140 , Labor and so many different kinds of visas and other applications . I must say that they are trying even if they are not succeeding. It is probably due to shortage of manpower and experienced personnel. Another problem is that the money that they get from all the application fees which is a very significant amont ( greater than a billion ) some of it is diverted to other programs rather than hiring more workers for USCIS .
I guess we can only make efforts via rallies and other actions that IV does to make them realize the delays and streamline their process but the ultimate decision will always lie with USCIS unless a big political figure steps in .

I hear you and for most part agree with you that USCIS - However bad they may seem - is still one of the best run government agencies...
No need for you to trash another country to make your point... We are all foreigners here and know what happens in rest of the world...
Chill... and BTW - USCIS does not give you a green card for sucking up... as you said there is a system and a process in place in US our Karm bhoomi...

Since EB3- I is doomed can I apply for consular processing and move to canada since i recently got canadian green card. I have a EAD and AP and I am in H1B status too.
Gurus please suggest.
Maybe if many EB3-I guys would move to another country. Some actions may be seen.

The bill being discussed in the senate if passed is going to be very detrimental to people that are stuck in the labor backlog centers. They wil be forced to redo their labor with the new point based system. That is not fair at all.

My wife is on H4, i'm on H1B. She applied for DL renewal and was renewed for 1 yr.
They accepted visa, passport, i-94, and H4 renewal receipt notice.
They gave her one year from receipt notice.
What a relief. i was worried they would not accept it.
That was in Sterling VA DMV.:)

We have a one month window to push for HR 5882, let us focus on that. if it doesnt work then we have no hope. at this rate EB3 will not even move 6 months per year. In retrospect every minor gain for the EB community has had major implications to EB 3 and the backlog as a whole (just venting a bit, dont want to drag it into a big discussion). I remember last year there were many who were saying 'now that we have EAD and AP we are good', this year many will realize the additional pain of renewals and waiting.
Oh's site mentions the following (per country limit is both family and EB based)
"The numerical limits for FY-2008 are as follows: (a) Worldwide Family-sponsored preference limit: 226,000, (b) Worldwide Employment-based preference limit: 162,704. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the "SSN Rule" is meant to keep the illegals form getting the rebate?? Ironically, a lot of them are working using "valid", although stolen, SSN numbers anyway so they'll probably still get it if the IRS doesn't have any other way of weening them out? Again, the legal immigrant community gets punished (indirectly) for the misgivings of the illegals. Just my rambling thoughts...:cool:

At the end, they waived their commission of 1%, so that I don't have to pay that amount.

Wow, there you go! How come it becomes not 'stupid' when a girl spends husband's money to support her parents?
This, effectively, means that if the girl stops earning for any reason such as pregnancy or is unable to earn, she immediately forfeits the right to send money to her parents. This is the most illogical statement I have ever heard.
And it also means that for any reason, if a girl remains a house wife, she has no right to send any money to the parents like you, as the earning member, do.
This is the very strange attitude that may get a marriage in trouble.
Why shouldn't a husband send money to his parents from his earnings? The husband and wife can talk about it and based on circumstances take a decision.
BUT if the girl takes for granted her rights to spend for her parents from husband's earnings, then it becomes an issue!
Did I even say husband shouldn't send money to his parents from his earnings?
But shouldn't that be also need-based? How come it is the right of the husband to send any amount of money he wants to his parents without the wife complaining and how come it becomes a case of "taking for granted" when a non-earning wife wants to send money to her folks in need? This is a hypothetical situation and nothing to do with OP's case.
And then how is it we, husbands, are the first ones to start complaining when our wives don't get a share of our in-laws property following their demise?

I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.
That is sad news!! I can just imagine how they feel, after waiting so long! Anyway lets hope something positive happens for the Oct bulletin.
A hospital I know is SO short of nurses they are offering them GREAT incentives to take on extra shifts. I mean it is an ACUTE shortage.
