For last few year...
"Backlog - retrogression - Can't process more than 1 case in 1 week, have patience guys...."
And Today ...
"Yes we can process 25000 cases in 48 hrs , that's called efficiency "
An we keep on accepting whatever is slapped on us and who knows what will be said to us in future.... "guys go home" ???
I wonder what.....something is coooking and they will be some changes soon. I have a feeling they are in fear of the lawsuit and media coverage as this thing has in fact taken off....

Applied GC in MAY 2002 in EB3-I. Been with the same company, same job etc...
Labor cleared in MAY 2007.
Applied I140 and I485 in June 2007.
I140 approved in SEPT 2007. Since then am with AP and EAD.

paskal, thanks for the reply. whats very frustrating for me is, these guys mess up so badly and they get away with no trace , we all know that this happened in the past and probably is happening currently too. All we are asking is a fair FIFO method and proper usage of visa numbers with transparency. The mere fact that they are not transparent raises many doubts in many minds. And these questions are not coming from those people who filed for their greecards an year or 2 ago..i just read a post in this same thread that this person has been waiting for his green card for 10 years...this is the height of ridiculousness and there is a limit for our patience, and this is it...

We need to know the number because I know people who ever filed I-485 before Dec 31, 2004, most of them have received GC in June/July 2007.
We don't know when this date is going reach 2003 or 2004 because it was stuck Nov, 200 before it became unavailable. Most of EB3 folks were and are entitle to EB2 but due attorneys and company's policy we filed under EB3. Since most of us are working on EAD and we cannot convert EB3 to EB2. If some one have option to convert from EB3 to EB2, we don't know how long it will take(due to backlog of I140) and what could be the endresult. We need to stand together and need to find a possible option to do something. Otherwise we are in deep mess and we will in deep mess after 2 years or 3 years.

What is your rate and who is your lender?
In my case; I was offered a refinancing rate that was 0.5% more than what I would pay if I were a GC holder. The reasoning is the short term validity of H1. Ironically I wasn't discriminated 3 years ago when I bought my house. At that time; I even didn't have my labor cert cleared. Now 3 years down the line; I have cleared first 2 stages and applied to I-485; bank charges me more :) Weird!!!!

Looks like USCIS did all the easy work in June and now they are getting to grip with the reality (that they cannot process even 140K GC in a year!!!). How shameful. May be all the USCIS folks worked so hard during the last few weeks in June that they would have taken a long break from work after June:D:D

I doubt that USCIS can talk cryptic like Alan Greenspan, they probably meant that the PD will be back to what it was in june 08. There are only 3k visas per category and thousands of applicants, i dont see a logical reason why the dates will move 2-3 years. If they do, i too will buy you dinner. nothing is logical with USCIS... during the last couple of weeks of September you will see significant numbers of EB 2 approvals and then its back to square one for another year.
The main reason for the 2 year movement in june 07 was because they wanted to allocate all unallocated visas for the year, then the July VB came out and the rest is history. They have improved the coordination between DOJ and USICS since. Just want to be realistic, if we start assuming thing people get complacent and stop doing the little activities that help us.
I don't agree with it and hope not ! As latest Visa bulleting states - DOS people had predicted and planned - They will move EB3 dates forward to cover all June applicants - that means moving cut-off dates for EB3 - India to Jun 2003 as per Jun 2007 bulletin. For some reason - they see heavey demand now and it may not be the case in next bulletin. Still they beleive its diffcult to predict any dates for EB3 before mid Sept. They are working and intention are there to help EB3 applicants. That leads to make me believe that dates for EB3 - India would move to somewhere Nov-Dec 2002 to Jan-Feb 2003 in next bulletin.

Those comments were made by the President before the Senate Democrats press event. In fact one reporter asked Sen. Reid about the President's comments. It is not possible the Senate democrats do immigration press event on the Hill without the concurrence of the President.
We think that the President is trying to make his sincere push for the reform which requires a bi-partisan support. He did not say that he is taking immigration off the agenda. So this article is misinterpreting the comments of the President.

They said the same thing about Clinton having the Dem nomination locked up a year ago. :) Do not underestimate the power of grassroots organization, unified efforts, public awareness and its influence over the representatives, call/fax/flower campaigns and active lobbying. Do not get discouraged and keep trying till you succeed.
The Multi-Year EAD happened today. Others will too. All we have to do is try and follow the Action Items. And urge others to join and do the same.

I believe, as mentioned earlier by willwin; we should meet the congress members to win their support for Visa Recapture Bill. IV is requested to set up the date and meetings. We are ready to participate.
