I'm on Schedule A. My attorney filed my I-140/485/EAD on July 30 and it reached USCIS on the 31st. I am now waiting for the Receipt Notice which my lawyer says may take three to four weeks.
I keep on praying that my I-140 will not be returned due to some mistakes in filing. My lawyer filed I-140 using the new fee. Is this correct?

You don't need to be harsh on your comments. You can go ahead and file a case with USCIS. That's what I've been saying here all the time.

What this means, is that the december visa bulletin is the correct time to expect a major jump on the priority date. since the leftover visas (EB1 & EB2) from other countries for the first quarter will be used for the oversubscribed countries.
Considering 7% country quota and 26.7% EB2 quota of 140k, we get 2800 visa for EB2 annually. For first month this number comes out to be 234. Considering 1.2 dependents this means 106 families get GC under EB2.
I am sure they have more than 106 cases before the cutoff of 1 April 2003. This may also include people delayed by background checks.

I agree. EB3-I would go U for rest of the year.
I wish EB3-I and EB2-I go to U in this bulletin. It may be possible then, that people will start acting. Else we keep doing this every month. Look what we did this time last year or 2007. Same dreaming about the bulletin and then wait for next month.

Who stopped us to write to senators and President who has even a Website open to take our feedback..

Go back and look at the forum postings. There are much more amenable and practical suggestions made. This PD thing doesn't pass the basic test: was there a precedence or prior history, can it be done and does it lessen the time for one to apply for I-485 and GC. Does it reduce backlog?

thats why aila lawsuit is important, if they can bend the rules for consular processing and a lot of other mischief for eating up 60k visas then they can bend there rules for giving us EAD as well when bulletin is revised.
See what I was saying. They are not supposed to grant CP appointments and approvals in July per the regulations. They have decided to bend the rules to approve the currently pending 485s and CPs. They came up with this lame excuse that since the visas were already shipped out to the consular posts ................yada yada. Point is as I said they can't do 18K CP applicatrions in a day at the consulates the way they seem to have done for the 485s. Even this I am not sure.
I doubt whether they have sent out all 60K 485 approvals either, they probably will in the course of the next month or thereabouts.
I'll say it again, they want 485s out but they don't want them in for whatever reason. It is getting clearer.

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.
I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... I'm really hoping they'll catch up and we won't have to wait 4 months. My 6th year H1 is expiring this December and I need to get the I-140 approved so I can get H1 extension.
You dont need a approved 140 for filing H1 extension for 7th year.. Only advantage with approved 140 is you will get 3 yr extension instead of 1.
All you need for H1 extension for 7th year is that a labor cert be filed at starting of 6th year.

Why do you think this is misleading? If you look at the date of the post, then the monday should be the following monday from that date which passed long time back. Let me know exacly what misled you, i may try to re-interpret if need be.
It is upto you to conclude who is right and who is wrong and nobody here is warning him because he is junior.
I have politely warned him, because i thought it was the right thing to do because of this discussion going in the wrong direction. I complained the adminstrator and moderator becuase that was the only tool available to me. Whatz wrong in this approach?

I just logged in thinking that by Monday, we July 2nd filers wud be getting receipts. But after flipping the pages back on this forum, I saw that the Monday was indeed the previous one. This is indeed misleading. After seeing the ongoing tussle between buddyinus and Srikondo, I realised Buddyinus is right. Whats wrong in whatever he's saying??? The purpose of this thread is to discuss about the so called Monday's receipts. But since that Monday is gone, looks like u r fighting over nothing. How dare u warn anybody on this thread. I am with Buddyinus on this. He may be a junior but u dont have any rights to warn him. Beware.

You should discuss the risks involved in concurrent filing with your lawyer too. In some circumstances if I140 is likely to face hurdles, you should wait for your I140 approval. This is just a caution. Each case is different.

I filed my labor on Feb 5th and still in processing. My lawyer has opened an enquiry but so far no response. I read this in the Immigration -law site:

However, the situation is under control and the Atlanta Center will see positive changes from here on in terms of the processing times. There are aware that in light of the immigrant visa number changes in July 2007, such changes should help in achieving some level of fairness.
Hope something works out quickly before we miss the bus. I am planning to send an email or request to my Senator. Any ideas on this?

i had run these numbers a while back. for sure EB2 will reach the end of 2005 this year. i just hope its done systematically so that they clear everybody with an EB2 2005 PD this year.
Trust me, my friend - I surely believe in systematic movement and by this june/july it will be Dec05 or beyond. Dates for EB2 have stayed around apr04 for really longer and then suddenly to 06. Very few perms were cleared in 05 (as per your posting). It should logivcally be past 2005 , never to go back.BTW ,we missed GC last aug/sept lotto

The numbers are assumptions and NOT facts. Most of these numbers have actually been pulled from other places or based on some rationale (for example 750,000 from Matthew Oh site, 5 minutes/EAD based on what need to be done to print out a card and pack in an envelop)
Workforce of 30 though is a gross assumption. Bigger the number better it is. So we may actually want to question USCIS if there are any resource constraints.

3) Take a look at the IV power point presentation and propose how we can tailor it to our needs. We need a presentation to show to our house reps when we visit them (This will be found on the resources page)
4) Go through the IV template for business cards along with instructions to modify the template and to print the business cards. (this will be found on resources page)
