The numbers are assumptions and NOT facts. Most of these numbers have actually been pulled from other places or based on some rationale (for example 750,000 from Matthew Oh site, 5 minutes/EAD based on what need to be done to print out a card and pack in an envelop)
Workforce of 30 though is a gross assumption. Bigger the number better it is. So we may actually want to question USCIS if there are any resource constraints.

What about bringing on H1B fresh graduates as Visa Processing Experts with a two days of Boot Camp Training? Anyway, we are forgetting that USCIS processed 25000 applications in 2 days. Please do not undermine efficiency we have seen in last days -- with that rate, I expect everything to get cleared in few weeks. If improved productivity is maintained/sustained to this level, I do not see any chance for outsourcing or bring H1B guys to this country. Best luck America!

I read in one of the Ron's post -CHc trying to stop even small immigration bills which has no amesty in it.So even the nurse recapture bill is at stake.
So ,I'm sorry -I beleive no one will even touch our case.Apply in EB2 port PD or get new PD either will be helpful .But seeing new backlog for I 140 its terrible.
I might apply for Canadian GC-Having kids here ,man they are adapted to this country living.That's the only thing bothering - kids future.
So this bill this year is at stake for sure.No one cares ...including change-what change there woudnt be any change in new party too.Its all drama going.I lost the trust.Its as if EB3 is not educated.
I'm just wondering-Will this problem be there if it were for ROW-or is it our color...that they dont want to aid.It's sure racism.
How many EB3 are there in total...Who asked them to flood the applications last year? :mad:

Also wanted to point out that the "dual intent" provision of the H1-B will be removed by this new CIR bill which will make matters worse for the people with I-485 pending as those applications can be rejected based on that.:(

This is not true. I-485 will never be rejected based on that. However, you might need to show you have strong ties with your home country if you ask for an H1-B at the consulate abroad.

As requested by IV core, from now on my recurring contributions would be $50 ( till date it was $20).
As fellow legal immigrants each of us share a responsibility to ease the process of GC. If each and every member engages in a financial contribution our confidence as a team would grow by leaps and bounds. This i believe would let core team lobby a lot stronger for our causes.
I hope all contributing members would be a motivation for other IV members to contribute.

only solution is get rid of the country cap. Before anybody from ROW goes into a lecture about "diversity" blah blah blah please think with a rational mind. Getting rid of country quota is the only solution. things like increasing it to 10% etc will only reduce the backlog time for Indian applicants from 25 years to maybe 18 years.
My take is that Sen. Cornyn's bill is too ambitious and tries to solve ALL the problems. It is never going to fly, especially in this political environment.
We should focus on EB retrogression relief and try to get in only the absolute minimum relief needed to eliminate current backlogs.
In my opinion, this is the absolute minimum:
1) Clear DOL backlogs in BECs
2) Recapture lost visa numbers
3) Dont count dependants
4) Raise per-country cap to 10%
If we can only these rolled in to amendment, it should be easy to pass. We can start an awareness initiative to educate the senators and ensure it passes. If we shoot for too much, its next to impossible. Thats the sad reality.

2) There was some heartburn among EB2 China applicants when their PD was set to April 2004. Since there are a lot more EB2 India applicants with PD's earlier than that, they felt that most of the EB2-ROW spillover would go to India. Moving the dates forward to 2006 would ensure that EB2 China gets a decent share of the spillover.
Although this is unfair to folks with earlier PD's and is sure to cause a lot of heartburn, I would rather see the visas get used than get wasted again. Looks like the USCIS is setting a pattern of giving a year end bonanza to a few fortunate folks. Let the annual sweepstakes begin! Good luck everyone!!

I got my loan approved in April 2010 from Wells Fargo, the under writer created some problems but my loan officer gave them references of prior loans getting approved for people on AOS so it worked out well in the end. I know a lot of people who's loans were approved (both conventional and FHA) and were on AOS. All the best hope everything works out well for you.
Any one recently re-financed or obtained a mortgage loan with Bank of America or Wells Fargo. Both the banks denied loan stating not having a valid visa as a reason, though I have approved EAD with 485 pending and I-140 approved. I have contacted the customer support, since the loan was through the mortgage broker. The underwrite appears to not accept EAD as a valid status and asking to provide a copy of visa to purse further. Any one have any specific docs / links that might help other than the ones in this thread.

I got the e-mail today as well. My PD is Sep 2005 and my I-485 receipt date was Sep 30, 2005.
They indeed are clearing up the pipes, so the situation is not as horrible as it seems to be. A pd of 2004 is considered "old" so as soon as visa nos become available in october, they would be the first ones to get approved.
